Rachel studied Theology and Secondary Education at university with PSHE as her second subject. She has over 30 years experience teaching in schools, ranging from selective grammar to inner city schools with high levels of deprivation. She is an experienced middle leader, having worked in an outstanding department of an outstanding school. Rachel is an experienced coach and mentor to early career teachers and is passionate about nurturing and growing those new to the teaching profession. Currently she combines teaching R.E with a role as staff Lay Chaplain. Outside of school Rachel has 30 plus years’ experience in inner city youth work across Bradford and Leeds as well as leadership roles within church communities. She is married to Richard and they have two grown-up children, Georgia and Samuel. Rachel looks forward to holidays which she says is ‘just food in different locations.’
Emilie studied a BA Hons degree in Writing, Directing and Performing for Theatre, Film and Television at the University of York. She has since been in youth and schools work for a decade, working across multiple charities and schools in Wakefield and Bradford. Emilie has experience delivering relationship and sex education for Spectrum Health and is a trained safeguarding lead and mental health First Aider. She also has training in contemporary chaplaincy and supporting young people through adverse childhood experiences and self harm. Currently, she mentors teenagers facing a breadth of concerns including mental health; bereavement, anxiety, persistent non-attendance, family separation and low self esteem. Emilie’s biggest passion is supporting teenagers to overcome obstacles and barriers to education and helping them work towards their full potential. She also loves to sing and spend time with her family, including her husband and 2 year old son.
